Little Bear loves adventure and being imaginative in his everyday encounters with life.  Mother Bear is always somewhere nearby to help, and to dialogue with him about whatever he is doing - whether it is sewing him clothes to wear out in the snow, or surprising him with a birthday cake on his birthday.  But the stories are always shown from Little Bear's perspective.

  My kiddos and I have enjoyed most of the Little Bear series, but Little Bear itself is our favorite.  It captures a realistic and playfully affectionate relationship between the mother bear and her little bear that we love!  And this one will make you want to read them all.
